Faded Truth Podcast was created by Angela Martinez during the 2020 Pandemic when her busy life was shut down abruptly. A true Jersey girl, intuitive & outspoken, Angela decided to create a platform where she could dig deep into the minds of creatives, all while educating herself and viewers on the mental and physical health benefits of cannabis. Fast forward to now reaching over 1.5 million listeners with celebrity interviews in hip-hop culture, plant medicine, adult industry, food and creativity spaces. Faded Truth takes an honest approach while highlighting the highs and lows that come with our day-to-day lives. Angie has given great resources to find knowledge, with each episode providing a new focus on topics that the mainstream often overlooks. She allows her guests to be passionate and personal, often bonding the host and guest beyond a podcast episode, creating a special collective community. Tanzania Hughie was born and raised in the south Bronx, New York. Her roots in this culturally rich environment helped develop her love for the Arts. At the age of 13 she began teaching lyrical and hip-hop dance styles in after school programs. She received Presidential scholarships, awards, and accolades for her service to the youth of Bronx based communities. Tanzania studied Fashion and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has a degree in Film and Television Acting from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.
She has continued to share her talents and gifts with the youth of the Metro New York Area, teaching performing arts at the Boys & Girls Clubs, I.S 62, Grace Harrigan Dance School and Dream Productions. Tanzania has been featured on television show such as; In the Line of Fire, The Dr. Oz Show, The Hungry Games, and Duchess Discoveries with the Duchess of York. On stage; When All is Lost by Drica Armstrong as Karen, Unequally Yoked by Lynette Blackwell, Murder by the Sea directed by award winning director Danielle Earle. In film, Tanzania played lead in Wendy Santana” The One”, and Ann in Lynette Blackwell’s “ Twelve” Ocktober Film Festival Best Short Film Nominee. Tanzania was also in a web series, Timeless Guilt, directed by Benny Flames.
Ms. Hughie is currently a freelance writer and has her own company Tanzania Hughie Productions. She has been a Board member At-Large of Citizen Action NY. She deems herself to be an ‘artivist’ where her activism and art worlds are colliding. She starred in Vivian Sessoms Billboard charting 2019 music video, “I Can’t Breathe”, and is a cowriter and DEA Agent 'Claudeen Shaw' in the upcoming Alex Hugo Film, "Bully: The Dead Don't Die", which highlights the injustices of the law enforcement department. Tanzania believes that art reflects life and it’s time the world looks in the mirror and makes a change. She believes you can truly be yourself when you have discovered your true purpose in life. Her personal motto is “It’s never too late to live the life you want to live”. She looks forward to impacting culture through the Arts by continuing to be a powerful woman in life and media.
